During my visit in May, where should I go in New Orleans, for the best crawfish etouffee?

N/A imho - outside the city, sure - but none that i've found can hold a candle to something made at home

I'm just a tourist from the Left Coast but I have always liked the crawfish etouffee at the Gumbo Shop in the Quarter. I only order it and an Abita amber so cannot comment on anything else - although I do recall ordering bread pudding that was quite good on my first visit to New Orleans 14 years ago.

Bon Ton Cafe on Magazine has the best that I have ever had.

Thanks, Bon Ton has been on my list of places to try. You have motivated me to make a reservation.
