Does anyplace make a date shake, preferbly north of Boston?

i just was eating dates and had a hankering for a date shake, but dont have a Ninja or blender so will have to go out for one.. Also, my Market Basket Medjool dates were kinda stringy and fibrous. Is there somewhere that sells really soft ones? Is it just that they are older and more dried out?

  1. When i read the title, I thought a date shake was a shake with 2 straws!

    1. I've been getting medjool dates from the Fresh Pond Whole Foods that are so, so soft and delicious. I've had to stop buying them because I was going through them too fast. But I do have a Ninja, so I think I'm going to buy one more container to try a date shake. That sounds delicious!

      1. I've been happy with the Medjool dates from Trader Joe's.

        1. I've had very good date and banana shakes at Red Lentil in Watertown.

          1. Back in the 89's I remember driving along the pacific highway on the way to San DIego when we pulled over to a truck on the side of the road selling great date shakes. Hmmm, hmmm good !

            1. I was going to suggest having your date go without a coat.

              1. I never heard of date shakes out side of Dateland, Az. When we were kids we would get them traveling from Gila Bend, Az to Phoenix. Az.

it looks like their shop has expanded since I was there in the 80's. I never used their Date Shake Mix but it looks like they sell it on line. I may have to try it just for the memories.

Wait! I just remembered that there was a food court in Boston's china town that had date shakes and durian shakes. This was a few years ago so someone else may have more info than I do.

                1. Life Alive in Central sweetens a lot of their smoothies with dates. They are delicious.
