Kickstarter project - funding a new farm-to-table restaurant in Needham

I think this is where that short-lived barbecue place, was, right? (And the fish restaurant, previous to this).

Another restaurant used Kickstarter as well when they needed funding to open another spot after getting word they had to leave their space. Maybe Kickstarter allows it depending on what it's being used for?

You're right. It says clearly in KS's guidelines that it's not for starting businesses.

Weird, they're positioning it as a "project" to add renovations to the location...

"We are doing this kickstarter project to raise money to add some architectural finishing touches to the farmhouse. We have journeyed around New England to use reclaimed wood from barns being torn down and old dilapidated farm houses. This wood will be used to build a fourteen seat community farmer's table and to add paneling along our banquette."
