Does anyone know where to buy Mariage Frères tea in the Northern Virginia area? Specifically, Fairfax or Loudoun? Thanks.

I've only gotten it fro Balducci's in their Virginia store. You could call Balducci's and ask them. When I went, they had the entire MF line their, tons of boxes.

I went to the McLean store a week or so ago and didn't see any MF teas, unfortunately. When did you go?

I have ordered directly from Paris and was very happy with the result. I lived in Paris and shopped there regularly so I had a long list of favorites that were not available from the US retailers. Although I did pay for shipping, it seemed reasonable and well worth getting my favorite teas. You can order directly from their website.

Thanks. I've been to the website and the shipping is just more than I'm willing to pay. The hunt continues!

I agree, the shipping is steep (pun intended ;o)

I just checked markethall - shipping and handling to VA is $8 but if you can spend $23 up on a small tin of tea then $8 for handling and shipping doesn't seem out of line. Postal rates are way up I guess due to the price of fuel ( ups is way up, too)

Thanks for the info. I'm not sure which tea you're referring to- Markethall sells 3 oz. for $12.50. $8.00 may not seem like much but I'm just not willing to pay nearly double for shipping for a tea I haven't even tried. Thanks for your input though. I appreciate the info.

These tins all seem to be 100 g (3.5 oz) and the lowest-priced is $18 (two of the varieties). All the others are $20 - $24.

                This place:

                http://www.theculturedcup.com/

claims to be the largest purveyor of Mariages Frere in the U.S.

They sell 2 oz of loose tea for $9.75 - $14.50.

                This place:

                http://www.porterouge.biz/

Has the tins for about $21 and the shipping to this area is $9.90.

Yeah I'm bumping up my own thread :) Any thoughts? An old thread references Balducci's but their website doesn't mention Mariage Frères. Thanks!

I've bought Mariage Frères tea from Balducci's in Bethesda before, but that was a few years ago. And I'm pretty sure I've seen it at Williams-Sonoma.

Why not order online? However, it is definitely available in Balducci's. I was there just the other day.

The shipping is exorbitant. I'll check out the McLean store again.
