Sonoma - Kitchenware, Cookbooks & Cooking Classes (oh my!)

Breadcrumbs Feb 1, 2013 12:34 PM

We're travelling to Sonoma in the fall and are staying downtown Sonoma. We will have a rental car for a portion of our stay.

I just finished reading a fabulous thread here on Sonoma Purveyors and have some fabulous "must-stop" places for food.

I'd love to hear your suggestions for interesting kitchenwares stores (including locally produced pottery etc) and I was also wondering whether there are any cookbook stores you'd recommend.

Finally, are there any great cooking classes in the Sonoma area you'd recommend? I'm debating whether we should make a day trip to Napa and head to the CIA since we've had such great experiences there in the past but I'd hate to miss out on something closer to our Sonoma base.

Thanks so much for any advice you may have!

Check The Epicurean Connection for classes taking place while you're there.

Downtown Sonoma has some great places:

Ramekins is a great place for cooking classes, Bram Cookware has an incomparable selection for clay pots.

Reader's Books has an okay selection of used books and often some rare cookbooks.

And the original Williams Sonoma (now called Sign of the Bear) is also on the square.

"Must-stop" for me would be La Salette.
