Cheese plate for lunch in downtown Boston?
A lovely workfriend and I share birthdays in the same week and also both LOVE cheese. Our plan is to take ourselves out to a sumptuous cheese plate lunch somewhere near our work-- which is right near Faneuil Hall. I noticed Mariave has a pretty extensive cheese menu-- do people think that would be good? Anywhere in the North End? Other suggestions? Thanks!

Pierrot Bistro Francais has cheese plates that are really popular. It's right down the street from Fanueil Hall at 272 Cambridge Street, almost across from MGH.
Be sure to check out Harry's Cheese and Cold Cuts on Blackstone Street for a take out cheese picnic when the weather gets better. They have an amazing selection of cheese and the prices can not be beat.

If you really want a cheese plate to remember consider a quick greenline trip to the Back Bay and reserve a couple of chairs in the Salon at L'Espalier.
It's one of the best cheese programs around.
