Garden Buffet at the Flamingo - don't waste your time or money

I was passing through Las Vegas for my first time in several years and had ~2 hours for the strip. Thinking back to my previous experiences, I remembered the Garden Buffet being a good moderate priced option.
At ~$23 for lunch, it seemed a tad high but still within reason. Today's Garden Buffet has very little in common with the one I remembered from the past.
Service was basically non-existent for most of the meal. It took ~30 minutes to get my iced tea which was ordered at the time I paid for the buffet. The table next to me finally gave up and "robbed" some silverware from another table after sitting there a few minutes watching their food get cold.
The food was basically what you find at a Golden Corral and of similar quality. The Sushi was made the previous day (they forget to remove the celophane when they put it out). The salad bar was pretty good and they didn't have shrimp and crawfish on crushed ice which were okay. The desert bar was pretty disappointing overall but, they did have self serve "soft serve" ice creme out of a machine.
I don't know what I will try next time but, the Flamingo won't be getting anymore of my money.
re: mucho gordo
I like a good buffet to sample lots of different things versus a single entree options I do in other cities. In the past, I would hit the strip and eat at a different buffet each time I passed through. I was looking forward to this trip but, I guess the slow economy has done their previously good buffet in.
