Birthday Cake

I will be out there early March for my birthday. I can't possibly imagine a birthday without cake! Anyone have any recommendations for a bakery with possible hotel delivery or within walking distance of the Alexia Hotel on 1st?

You might ask your hotel, the Alexis, for recommendations. Tom Douglas has a bakery on the edge

Do you require a whole cake ... or would a cake-based dessert in a restaurant fill the need?

The first place that comes to mind is Macrina Bakery in Belltown... they're also on 1st Avenue, about a mile away heading northwest.

I can't think of any bakeries that do cakes in or near Pike Place Market, which would be a closer walk.
