Group dinner in Reading

Hi hounds,

I'm looking to organize a group dinner in Reading, following a conference. There will be about 10 of us. We are looking for a delicious place with nice ambiance that will not break the bank; hopefully we can stay within a budget of 30 GBP per person excluding alcohol. Proximity to the university would be a bonus.

    Both the Good Food Guide and Hardens tip the London Street Brasserie for decent, well-priced food.

    Can't offer any first hand experience, I'm afraid. Reading is a town I've mangaged to avoid for 62 years.
