Can you name this pressure cooker in 15 seconds [Video] and other questions.
This is my old one:

1. Does anyone recognize the brand? (There's no markings).
2. It feels really heavy. Does that ensure it's stainless steel or could it be aluminum? (again, no markings). From a health perspective, I really don't want to cook with aluminum and if aluminum, that would be grounds for me not using it anymore.
3. With this style unit, is there any way to tell whether it's running at 8psi or 15 psi if it's not spinning? I presume when the gas stove is on high and the thing spins around like crazy, it must be at max. Any guess what might be going on when steam is coming out, but it's not spinning?
Here's a video of it spinning: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LleJ9...
Thanks for any info you could share on this,
Mike

Nope. There are many pressure cookers look like it, but none look exactly the same.

re: Chemicalkinetics
The base is heavily scratched, and I could only see the marking with a flashlight at at certain angle.
Once I saw the brand, and googled it, I recognized cover of the cook book that was hiding in the back of the closet for the last 9 years.
And, now, having read the manual, I think I might just keep it and use it as my primary pressure cooker.
It turns out I had the heat too high - it should only spin 4 times per minute. If it does that, I bet I would lose much less water, and it would make much less noise .
I'm cooking potroast tomorrow so I'll know for sure.
