Le Bernardin Chef's Tasting Menu Plus 1 Course

I'm planning on taking my BF to Le Berniden for the Chef's Tasting menu with wine pairings.

I know the meal is already extravagant but I want to do something extra special and add a course and wine pairing to make it a meal unique to us. The restaurant will then print a special menu just for us.

My question is this: I'd like to add the Beausoleil Oysters from the Prix Fixe menu (he loves Oysters). Would this pair well with the rest of the menu, or is there something else I should add?

  1. I think you mean Le Bernardin? Not Me Berniden, yes?

You could add on the Egg for dessert. I think it's $22 extra.

I do. I'm on a phone and it wouldn't let me correct the error.

I'd love an extra dessert but he's more into the savory.

How about the crispy black bass? The prep has changed but a very similar dish was featured in Anthony Bourdain's Medium Raw, in the chapter where he talked about their fish butcher, Justo.

BTW, it's Le BERNARDIN with an "a" and another "r" in there. Just think of it as "Bernard" + "in" when writing it out.

            Third time's the charm?? Thanks!
Also, the black bass sounds good... And he's a big Bourdain fan...

You can see a short video clip about Justo here:

The chapter in Bourdain's Medium Raw is called "My Aim is True," definitely read it before going.

      2. If your boy friend likes sea urchin, I recommend SURF and TURF on their current menu, composed of roasted bone marrow, sea urchin, and bacon crisp. It was so good!

Holy moly, that looks good. This is actually making my decision harder.
