Putting chocolate in coffee

SeriousTyro Jan 30, 2013 09:12 AM

I put a piece of Ghirardelli 86% dark chocolate in my coffee but the chocolate turned all grainy and didn't mix well. =/

What can I do?

You can dump it out and get a can of Ghirardelli Sweet Ground Chocolate and Cocoa. This has instructions for Café Mocha on the back.

How would I make it smooth without buying another product?

I would grate the chocolate with a microplane, put it in the cup, first and then add very hot coffee. You might need to whip it with a chocolate whip, or make it in a larger container and use an immersion blender.

Hmm that would do the trick but doing it at work would not be practical.

Maybe if I microwave the chocolate to make it a gooey then add the coffee.

Heat up cream/milk and pour over chopped chocolate to melt; then add coffee.
