It's not good though Googs. It was part of Restaurant Takeover.
"Portugril is being filmed for the final segment of Restaurant Takeover tomorrow at lunch, come in for a bite, check out the new place and the possibility for TV stardom :-)"
I hope this isn't the usual kiss of death.

re: magic
What the hell? As far as I could tell, there was nothing failing about that restaurant. The one thing I had hoped for (okay, it was two but a liquor license is mere fantasy on my part) the one thing was more comfortable chairs and tables. This picture says I can dream on. Is Restaurant Takeover good for anything?

re: Davwud
I'll add that their cooking could use just a little tweaking. I've often thought that with just a few minor, and I mean very minor, changes, the food could sparkle without risk of alienating the customers who come there for comfort food or making it too complicated for the staff to handle.

Here is their last tweet. Jan 30
Looks like our opening is going to be delayed to Monday or Tuesday of next week. :-(

re: Davwud
Their website says Tuesday, February 5. Considering the target was Feb 1, that's not bad.

Their website says something about renovations being delayed...
Yet their phone goes straight to a busy signal. That doesn't seem good.
I really hope it hasn't closed! I've been meaning to try it!

re: Yongeman
Yep, I saw the new sign last night too. I'll let you know if I see any lights on. I was thinking, "Why the devil would they spend the money on new signage when they haven't been open that long?" Okay. It makes sense now. Website, phone #, tells locals it's Portuguese, and in case you haven't figured out what they're Portugril'lin, the "L" is a chicken. Very clever if I do say so myself. Clear and succinct. Now if only they'd get a liquor license...
