Vernick or Fork?

Misha Jan 28, 2013 05:36 PM

Going for a bday dinner (a Friday night) and wondering which one to choose? Have a preference?

Both are excellent, if you've never been to either I might opt for Vernick because it's slightly less expensive but really you won't go wrong with either and neither is head and shoulders above the other. I'd just look at both menus and see which appeals to you more. You may want to check Opentable now, one or both could be booked already depending on what Friday you're talking about.

Buckethead have you been to Fork since the new chef has been there?

Yes, it's great! We went there the first night of service, I always wanted to go to Torrisi Italian Specialties in NYC, now-Fork chef Eli Kulp's former restaurant, so I was looking forward to him cooking at Fork and it didn't disappoint.

Both Fork and Vernick offer outstanding food. For a birthday celebration, however, I would opt for Fork. The atmosphere at Fork is more elegant and worthy of a special occasion.
