Great Coffee and Pastries Near Old Montreal

We will be staying at the edge of Old Montreal and are looking for a coffee house with excellent coffee and pastries. Hoping to find someplace nice to sit a bit, relax with a newspaper and savor the neighborhood.

A search has turned up a few possibilities; Le Chartet, Differance and Olive et Gourmando. Any comments on these places or other suggestions. Thanks for your help.

Yeah I vote Olive et Gourmando as well.

Les Glaceurs has good coffee but they serve cupcakes, not pastries.

Olive is great of course, but it's definitely not a place to relax. It's always packed and noisy.

Thanks for all your replies. Olive et Gourmando did look interesting, so we will definitely check it out one morning. Since we plan to explore Old Montreal, we'll keep our eyes open for other interesting places we happen to come across.
