Isla Mujeres or Cancun dinner/

Staying 4 nights in the best all-inclusive in Isla Mujeres, but open to finding a to-die for foodie place/hole in the wall place for dinner one night in either Isla Mujeres or Cancun.

Suggestions please!

  1. How was the best all-inclusive in Isla Mujeres? Which one was it? And did you find anywhere good to eat?

    1. I wish I had checked this earlier. We live on Isla Mujeres. There are so many wonderful restaurants for such a small Island. I know the poster was already here but if anyone is researching Isla here are our favorites for dinner: Brisas Grill right on the water, they have incredible fresh fish (ceviche, cocktail & shrimp diablo), Olivia it is a Mediterranean restaurant with a garden dining are with great fresh grilled meats & vegetables (Shishlik, Mixed plate, Mediterranean tapas, Mousaka) & Asia Caribe for their fresh fish entrees (pecan encrusted tamarind grouper, garlic grouper). Most “hole in wall” spots are breakfast & lunch with the exception of Kash Keken Chuc , daytime (grilled chicken & ribs), nighttime (tamales on Friday & Saturday, empanadas, tacos, salbutes), Alexia & Giovannis in the Mercado ( divorced eggs, fish tacos), Carnita La Nouvea Esperanza (only pork tacos & sandwiches).

Baird....We only have two all-inclusive options on the Island, The Isla Palace on Punta Sur & Privilege Aluxes downtown. The Isla Palace is adults only & not very big maybe 70 rooms. Beautiful pools & views. The beach is nice but not the nicest on the Island. Privilege’s is family friendly, bigger, great beach & pools. At Privileges you do not need a golf cart or scooter you are within walking distance to all of downtown.

We'll be in Isla in June and we're going to a dinner at Olvia's for a reherseal dinner.

Any other places worth checking for cheap local eats? I'm also interested in finding any cocktail bars or somewhere that I can find a decent cigar and drink.

      2. Villa Rolandi is nice (not to be confused with Rolandi's downtown).
