Papaya King style dogs/juice?

Boston_Otter Jan 26, 2013 05:32 AM

Whenever I'm in NYC, I see all of the various hot dog spots with tropical juices... Papaya King, Gray's Papaya, etc. It's such a New York institution that I'm surprised it's never tried migrating up here. Are there any places in town serving hot dogs and papaya juice? Or is that strictly NYC?

There aren't many locations in this region with the kind of constant foot traffic that is needed to support Gray's Papaya and its quality and pricing. Perhaps the food court at South Station?

I agree, you have to do MASSIVE volume to be able to sustain their low prices.

I'd give my right pinkie toe for a Papaya King in Boston. Love those dang dogs washed down with Papaya Juice. "Poor Man's Filet Mignon" or somesuch.

Thank you! That's right, "Better than Filet Mignon!"

I'm lucky enough to hit Papaya King once or twice a month but I know if no equivalent here. :-(

Yep - to the best of my knowledge that is indeed strictly NYC.
