Shakey's Changed The Recipe For Mojos And They Are Horrible Now - Your Thoughts
Not sure when because I don't go to Shakey's much but about three years ago was the last time I went to the buffet and had the Mojos and they were not good at all. They lacked the taste and texture of the way they used to. I thought maybe it was a fluke so tonight I went to Shakey's, a different location this time, and just ordered a drink and Mojos and they were horrible again.
Have any of you noticed they have changed? I used to love the way they were and wish they were the same. I used to be able to eat lots of them but I could hardly finish my order tonight because they didn't taste so great.
When a restaurant changes recipes it's for a number of reasons and some are -
1) decrease the cost of making the item by using different ingredients, therefore maximizing profits. That is if people still buy the item after it's changed.
2) Health reasons. Make items more healthy in order to spin that on the public hoping that will increase sales of these food items, therefore maximize profits.
3) They are not selling so well as is originally so they change the recipe hoping to improve the item which will hopefully increase the sales and maximize profits.
4) Vendors for the ingredients went out of business or raised prices so they change the product ingredients to keep the item in production at a low price.
Regardless of changing them I don't want to buy them any longer. They just aren't what they used to be nor do they taste right or good now.
Younger generations won't notice and will probably just buy them and eat as if nothing is different but for those who are aware of these do you notice these are different now? And how do you like the change?
