Recently moved from southern cali, and looking for recommendations for vietnamese food in essex county. So far, have drawn a complete blank. Many thanks for any pointers.

Huong Viet in Nutley and Binh Duong in Bloomfield are both excellent options in the area. If I had to choose between them, I'd try Binh Duong, although the food at both is good, the service at Huong Viet is not the best. (rather slow, and food does not always come out of kitchen in order)

That is VERY true about Huong Viet--and a complaint I've had since they opened (2...? years ago). When I go there, I go knowing that the service will suck--but the food is terrific!

Did Binh Duong move or get a makeover or something? Is it still in that little strip mall? I suspect they offer a lot more than HV, but haven't been there in years, and the last time I went they weren't open.
