Joe's Crab Shack-- Clifton

A lot of mixed reviews for this place-- however, the dearth of good seafood in NNJ makes me wonder about it-- (Even though I don't like chains)

Anybody been here, any thoughts?

How they do crabs this time of year? Frozen? Yuk.

I don't know anyone who has enjoyed this place (Clifton). I won't go based upon that.

Can't understand the appeal of eating frozen seafood at a restaurant. Don't think the place would make it in the Boston area, however. So many fresh fish places! (Love Barking Crab!)

Can you say salt?.... Lots and lots of salt, and then a lot more...
Haven't been to that particular location but, since it 's a chain, wouldn't expect anything less.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like a must to avoid. Crossing it off my list. And for sure it seems that all the crabs are frozen. What's the appeal?

I've been to the one near Monmouth Mall and it was a dismal experience. One and done for me and Joes Crab Shack.

Do not get the "lobster" pot pie - mostly potatos with a scant three small pieces of lobster.
