Best London neighborhood for restaurants
I'm planning a trip in the fall and want to choose a hotel that is near great restaurants so all I have to do is walk out the front door and have lots of choices. Was looking at a hotel in Victoria but can't tell if there are any good restaurants around there.
What's a great neighborhood for dining? Not really interested in formal dining, casual atmosphere but price not a big deal. Any cuisine fine. I love Thai so any great Thai recs appreciated!
Check out this thread which had a similar theme and quickly descended into bickering and petulance
The thing about London is that it really is incredibly easy to get around with the tube - and you'll want to travel a bit to get diverse food.
Victoria isn't great for restaurants on your doorstep though. You're probably better heading a little north east towards Mayfair/Soho (with accompanying prices) then you'll be able to walk to a huge variety of places. I always think the Dean Street Townhouse would be a wonderful place to stay as a foodie.

Although note Nahm has closed.
There is also the recently opened Naamyaa Cafe in Islington from the founder of Hakkasan which has had decent reviews. We've been twice and enjoyed it (but not loved it).
