Mais - Tacos & Cocktails

Has anyone been? I'm curious if it is more a restaurant, or a bar with good food? Is it more a buvette chez Simone type of deal, or is one more proeminent than the other?

Thanks.

I was there for lunch last week. They were offering 3 kinds of taco: winter veg, chorizo & potato, and chicken adobo. One of each (or 3 of any one) plus dessert (a yummy little chocolate truffle square thing) was about $11. I didn't notice any appetizers at lunch. They had a couple of interesting-looking nonalcoholic homemade sodas: hibiscus or lime. I didn't notice the alcoholic drinks in detail but there seemed to be quite a few on offer. It was hopping right around 12:00, presumably mostly with ubisoft-ers. The tacos were fresh, tasty, and interesting. I will definitely return.

              here's the most important question

how does it compare with grumman in terms of value - should I expect to pay $20 and leave hungry?

Each taco is between 3.50$ and 4.50$+ tax. I ate 3 tacos and was somewhat full but not so impressed with any that I ate, maybe im just sick of tacos all together...

So foodwise, if you're going to line up at a tiny, crazy popular place, better off lining up at Icehouse?

Theyre pretty much the same except icehouse has more options to eat. Not sure which place I dislike more though. If you haven't abused these non traditional tacos yet like I have, you may enjoy it. But theyre really nothing extraordinary, very average imo.
