Using pear sauce

Does pear sauce impart a flavor into baked goods any more than apple? I recently used it in something and found it to have a cloyingly sweet flavor. I'd thought they were interchangeable.

I've used unsweetened pear sauce and found it very similar to unsweetened apple sauce in baking. I guess it depends on the pear sauce

      That makes total sense.

like apples -- it depends on the type of pear -- some are sweeter than others.

It pairs (sorry) extremely well with chocolate.

Yeah, that's what I should have done with it. Then the chocolate would have dominated.
