Imperial Dynasty closing (Hanford)

PolarBear Jan 28, 2006 10:11 AM

Article in Wednesday's Fresno Bee (linked below) on the February 18, closing of this landmark. The famous wine cellar is apparently being sold off. There's a nice picture of the Wing family, the old building, and Richard's escargot, curry, and egg foo yung recipes (must register for the latter).

Thanks PolarBear for the reminiscences of one of the best meals I've ever had - if not the best. The Imperial was strictly old school. At the Imperial twenty years ago $125 a plate seemed like a steal. The Imperial delivered the goods - fantastic dishes, an incredible wine list, and a highly competent staff that didn't think that having a personal relationship was the height of serving. Something that's completely missing from today's trendy and overly priced restaurants.
