London -- solo dining tonight

Hello,

I'm in London for work, staying at the Apex Temple Court, and am looking for recommendations for a place where I can dine alone comfortably and hopefully enjoy a good cocktail or four. On previous visits, I've been to St. John, Bocco di Lupo and Opera Tavern and enjoyed them all, but am looking to try a new place.

Many thanks in advance for any suggestions.

    How about Great Queen Street?

I quite enjoyed Hawksmoor (mentioned by ManinTransit) in a very steaky way. It's not close, but Yauatcha in Soho has small plates which can make a nice meal (crab salad & venison puffs both well worthwhile) and a modern Anglo/Asian cocktail list.

      Happy Dining.

Tom's Kitchen at Somserset House is less than 10 minutes' walk away:

There's a Burger and Lobster on Bread Street, and another on St John Street by St John. I'd be quite tempted to eat there as a solo diner. You could eat at the bar or at a table and the cocktails are very good as well.

Hawksmoor Seven Dials is a steak place with great cocktails or you are probably equidistant from Polpo Smithfield and Polpo Covent Garden if you fancy continuing in the vein of small plates.

Terroirs is excellent for charcuterie and interesting wines but not cocktails so much.
