I'm looking for a nice restaurant for an occasion near Union Station. Is this a wish too far, or is there anything yummy out that way?
My vote is for Bistro Bis. Best steak tartare in the city.
I like Johnny's Half Shell, but I've only been there for happy hour.
Charlie Palmer? Or less fancy but yummy, Montmartre in Eastern Market? Is B Smith's still in Union Station itself? only there once but the food was decent and the setting is one of the most jaw dropping in the city...
I wouldn't go to B Smiths. I think its outdated and if you want Southern cuisine there are better options in the city (Art and Soul, Georgia Browns, Creme etc).
i haven't been there in at least 10 years...so i wasn't sure but it sure is gorgeous! I like Vidalia for southern and Acadiana for the cajun/creole kind of southern. yum!
Yes I forgot to add Acadiana to the list...really good, especially for brunch.
I would put all those places you mentioned on the same level, giving B. Smiths the advantage of being in a historic location.
Eatonville probably outpaces them all right now.
I would go to either Bistro Cacao (especially if you are looking for a romantic environment) or Bistro Bis, both are French, both delicious.
What kind of occasion? How many people?
Bistro Bis and Cacao are both nearby.
