Best of the South? Charleston, Savannah, New Orleans, and more

I was rather surprised that Food & Wine didn't include any North Carolina restaurants in their list, but found it interesting, nonetheless.

    These are solid, if safe, picks, though I still think Husk is overrated, and I'd include Asheville's The Admiral and Nashville's City House.

      Completely agree about Husk being overrated. Don't mind the bar, though.

      Asheville is so good they devoted an entire article to our dining scene.

        Wow. I know it's a lot easier to sit here and critique than to actually figure out what the good stuff is in town, but I can't believe they came to Asheville and missed the Admiral. Also, not to dis Green Man, but to miss Wedge or Pisgah seems a shame.

        Every time I decide to have a good attitude toward Curate, I read some article like that and can't help thinking why the food isn't any better with all the fancy resume behind it.
