Final Itinerary....Paso Robles/Napa Valley....8 days/7 nights
First, a little background. I look for a combination of "comfort food " with good wines; prefer quality over quantity. Using Paso on the front and back end of the drive. Not looking to change the itinerary; but would be interested in menu/service observations from experienced diners.
Day one: Staying in Paso at Hotel Cheval and dinner at Buona Tavola
Day two: Check in at Wine Country Inn in St Helena...lite lunch at Gott's Roadside down the road and dinner at Farmstead at Long Meadow Ranch
Day three: Charcuterie, cheese and salmon along with bubbly at lunch at Domaine Carneros; ribs and cornbread for dinner at Rutherford Grill
Day four: Spend the day in Yountville and have lunch at Redd...grab a couple of wine tastings on Washington St; dinner at Market in St Helena
Day five: Spend the day on Main St in St Helena with lunch at Cook; pick up some cheeses and salamis at Sunshine Foods for a late snack; have dinner at The Grill at Meadowood with the 3-course dinner and wine pairings (the Grill, not the restaurant).
Day six: One more day in Yountville, lunch at the patio/bar at Lucy's at Bardessono; pick up goodies at Bouchon bakery, more wine. Early dinner and drinks at the Bistro/Bar at Auberge du Soleil...watch the sunset.
Day seven: Check out at WCI...back to Paso...lunch at Artisan....check in at Cheval and have a dinner at il Cortile with a nice Amarone.
Day eight: Check out, lunch at Bistro Laurent.....
Day nine: Start the diet (again)
Would love to hear any thoughts on these restos (food-wise)
