Best latte/cappuccino in Laval?

javastufff Jan 20, 2013 09:43 AM

Where to go for a great latte in Laval besides the usual Starbucks, second cup, other big name place etc...?

There are so many Italians in Laval, and other strong dark coffee aficionados such as Portuguese, that there must be some good old café-bars, no?

I haven't had the opportunity to ask Laval friends, but I'm sure someone can suggest some of those!

In Ste. Rose there is a little place on Blvd. Ste. Rose called the Chocolune. You can get capucinos, cafe latte, and light fare. They also make Chocolates.

I appreciate the suggestion. Will check it out, but I should've specified that I was looking for a place in Chomedey/Ste-Dorothee area. Anything around there?

I am not as familiar with that area other than the standard bigger chains.

In Sainte-Dorothe, Marius et Fanny makes good coffee and fantastic light meals and pastries.

In Chomedey, there are a lot.
-Cafe Art Java just opened a spot in Centropolis. If they are anything like the Montreal downtown location, they make fantastic coffee!

-Tessier dit Lavigne on St-Martin. Coffee and nut truffles place.
-Galleria on Cure-Labelle has nice coffee and cake, though it's more of a restaurant.
-Mikkacino in Quartier Laval (small mall near Momorency station) makes great coffee and you can play backgammon there.
-Elixor restaurant in Centropolis actually makes really good coffees. Many specialised versions and their cakes are great too.

The Centropolis area seems to be a happening place. I was at Elixor sometime ago and saw they make good breakfasts so not surprised that they have the coffee to go along with it.

Wow, that's great! Will definitely check out mikkaccino and tessier!
