Antoine's or Commander's Palace or other for Sunday jazz brunch
Have been reading for months and it is quite clear that Commander's Palace is a big fave on this Board for jazz brunch. Friends of ours (late 40's, like us) went to Antoine's in the summer and also enjoyed the jazz brunch very much.
So my question is, if you could do just one Sunday jazz brunch, and you were in New Orleans for the first time, which would you choose and why?

Had an anniversary brunch at CP a few months ago and it was fantastic...both food and service. But if you are going on another day ($0.25 martinis with lunch on weekdays)
I would second Arnaud's and suggest you look into Muriel's.
Their gorgonzolla proscuitto tart with fresh fruit is out of this world. -

re: Uncle Bob
We can go to Commander's another day while we are there if the food is better on weekdays. But we are looking not just for the experience, but also good food. We are only in New Orleans for a short time, so we are trying to make each meal a good one. Want the "New Orleans" experience (Sunday jazz brunch, in this case), but with good food and lots of choice. From all that I've read (and this Board is a wealth of info), it should be doable, just trying to decide where.

Just read a recent, and poor, review of CP Sunday brunch on another thread, so maybe I have my answer.... Anyone want to weigh in?

re: Phoenix
I was very disappointed with CP's brunch on Father's Day 2011. Not one dish wowed me or members of my party. Service and music was fun, but food/drink was big big letdown.
My most memorable & delicious brunch in NOLA was at Dante's (Riverbend) but it is not a jazz brunch, and they do not take reservations.
Good luck and please report back. I am looking forward to trying Atchafalaya in April.
