Going to Upstairs 2 tonight
I'm excited to try a new place close to home that I saw someone recommend here a few weeks ago. We are big fans of the Westside Tavern to the north and Waterloo and City to the west, and I'm hoping we will be adding Upstairs 2 to the rotation.

I wimped out and went to Aframe instead. We had the charred baby octopus and the shrimp tempura rolls for appetizers. The baby squid was exquisite, the tempura rolls pleasant but nos spectacular. The beer can chicken was outstanding as usual, as were the cocktails. But I am disappointed in myself and I resolve to try out Upstairs 2.

I've had some good dinners there. What they do best is pair wine and food....but I've had some very tasty dishes.

I agree with Porthos - but I haven't been there in years. I went once with a visiting chef friend- but we'd already been to three restaurants that evening, so by the time we got there - we weren't up for eating anything.
The next time I went with a date and another couple to a wine dinner. And the food - well I don't remember anything popping out. And oddly enough, one weirdly god-awful wine pairing.
Maybe it's better. Love the weird location. If only...
