Szechuan Garden, Lynnwood

wow. just had lunch at the Szechuan Garden. it is in the building where that chinese buffet place used to be, just behind iHop on 196th.
the owner recently relocated from Salt Lake City, where he had a restaurant of the same name.
i had the spicy beef stew noodle soup recommended to me. i am in love.
my tongue was both numb and tingly. i wanted to eat everything on the menu.
i asked about Spicy Fish Stew and i was introduced to another menu, the Red Menu. make sure you ask for the Red Menu. the Red Menu items are on their To Go Menu.
friendly table service. i think this place is going to give Szechuan 99 some competition.

i returned today for lunch. the spicy fish stew was outstanding. loaded with white fish and cabbage. will serve at least 2 big eaters. heat level 3 out of 5 is good enough for me. it is not a fiery as the picture would suggest. you'll need some white rice with this. order is extra

      i highly recommend it.

That looks like the dish aka boiled fish, fish boiled in water, swimming fire fish. My favorite, when done well.

i'd be very interested in your opinion of this dish, christy.
the very first time i ever had this dish was at a chinese retaurant in everett and it was called Hot Spicy Fish Stew.

i have had it at Szechuan 99 by the same name and now, at Szechuan Garden.

i always ask if this is the dish with cabbage at the bottom of the bowl. :-))

thanks for letting me know the various other names of this dish.

    2. Thanks for the info! Have you tried their Dan Dan noodles? I like the peanut buttery version had at 7 peppers.
