Paso Robles Zinfest 2013? What is changing?

Does anyone know what is happening with the Annual Paso Robles ZinFest 2013? There is no information available, and the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance is now calling it "Grow Zinfully Wild Weekend" with no mention of the usual Saturday Night ZinFest that I have been looking forward to. Any information would be appreciated, thank you.

  1. I haven't been to this particular event in the past so I can't say what has changed. does have some information about the weekend including a list of what each winery is doing each day.

    1. I contacted the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance and sadly, this is their response:

Unfortunately, we are not continuing with the Zin tasting that evening. Moving forward, Zinfandel Weekend will be a similar format to Harvest Wine Weekend, with focus on individual events at area wineries. However, we do still have coordinated tasting events at our Wine Festival, May 17 - 19, 2013.

      So sorry to hear :(

Added to the loss of Hospice du Rhone, very depressing.

      2. Too many events to rent the Paso Robles Event facility.
Attend and visit the wineries instead.
Or go to Zin Fest at Fort Mason.
        Too costly to do both.

        1. As a few of you mentioned already, Zinfandel Weekend no longer has a coordinated tasting event. Instead, 130+ Paso Robles wineries plan their own special tastings, winemaker dinners, live music, tours, etc throughout the weekend. Check out to see what all of the wineries have going on. If you are looking for a Paso Robles tasting event, Wine Festival (May 18th) tickets go on sale February 1st!

          1. As noted, it is now called "Grow Zinfully Wild Weekend". They may have "sold it" like they did the Rhone event. Or perhaps more acurately, someone else bought it.
