The Best (Bottled) BBQ Sauce

Stricklypescetarian Jan 17, 2013 10:46 AM

Hello everyone - looking to make some good old comfort food in my faithful crock pot this weekend.

My plan is to make some BBQ pork ribs and rather than make my own sauce this time around, I would just rather add already made.

Does anyone have any grocery store favorites?

Cook's Illustrated has voted Bullseye #1 on more than one occasion.

Thanks but I need to find something in the local. It seems that this link caters to the US. :(

Yes, but some of the suggestions in the posts above are available in the US. It's something to consider when you venture south as well, although not immediately useful.

I really like and recommend the PC Smoking Stampede beer & chipotle BBQ sauce

Looks like a winner on Loblaws website with many excellent reviews as well.
I'll pick up a couple of bottles this weekend. Just want to make sure however that there is no beer taste, correct?

The PC smoking stampede Tequila Habenero one is good as well, and a bit more spicy!

And bottles are fairly large for bbq sauce(1L)

Tequila Habanero for me too. It's spicier than the Beer & Chipotle. Both are very good though.. would even say excellent

I can't detect any obvious beer taste.

Can I pick it up at Maxi's or do I have to go to Loblaws?

Found it! 1L bottles at $3.99 each ($1.00 off reg price)...thanks again everyone!

The best I've found in Montreal is Cattle Boyz BBQ sauce, but it's rather hard to find if you don't have a Costco membership. And even then, they don't stock it outside of grilling season. I've heard that the President's Choice Smoking Stampede is quite similar to Cattle Boyz.

Thanks very much. I'm going to take yours and HungryAnn's recomendation on the PC.

As much as it pains me, loudmouth Guy Fieri has branded a bottled sauce that, by the ingredient list looked least offensive.

I have to admit it was decent. Not homemade, but a cut above. May only be availble in the U.S.

The Lady Diana line of sauces are good. Not very spicy, but flavourful. I had the PC Smoking Stampede sauce via their frozen rib patties and it was really good.

The PC Beer and Chipotle is by far the best tasting BBQ sauce available anywhere around here.
