California's Artisan Cheese Festival

Wondering if anyone is planning to go or has attended in prior years. This will be the seventh annual edition and the venue is the Sonoma County Sheraton in Petaluma, about 45 minutes north of San Francisco and the gateway to wine country.

I went the second year of the festival. My friend and I decided too late to register for any of the seminars, so we just had tickets for the Sunday tasting and took advantage of the free things in the marketplace. I didn't post at the time, but here's a discussion on the SF board from that time period.

Wonder what it's like now.

  1. I've always wanted to go!

    1. There is a new board running the festival in place so this year may look different from previous years. I think the farm tours are a great addition and people always love them. The seminars are very dependent on instructor - it seems they are doing much more cheesemaking (hobbist level) classes. The Beer and cheese one is always fun.

Sunday is a good way to talk to cheese makers but bring a jacket it gets pretty chilly!

Looks like I'm not going to be able to go on Sunday. Hope you'll report back on any interesting finds or info if you're attending.
