20th Wedding anniversary help

I'm surprising my wife with a trip in May (2 days in SF and 2+ days in Napa) for our 20th wedding anniversary. I'd like to have a very nice dinner with wine in SF but not spend 3 hours at a table. We are staying near Union Square. We'll be hitting Chinatown for lunch so I'd love to do something different for dinner (French, Italian, etc.). Thanks for any suggestions.

    Napa:
    Redd
    Terra
    Bistro Jeanty (French!)
    Goose & Gander

thank you! Those are on the Napa list along with Bouchon, Auberge de Soleil, Bottega, and BDG

On my SF list are: Four&Water, Cotogna, Baker&Banker, Fleur de Lys (or am I asking too much here for a meal under 3 hrs??). Also thinking of lunch at Tadich Grill for the experience.

You might want to read recent reports here on Fleur de Lys.

I find Bottega just too heavy for me. Auberge will be expensive and LONG, but definitely go there for a glass of bubbly and maybe an appetizer.

Bistro Don Giovanni is my favorite Italian restaurant in the valley.
