"An Italian Ketchup to Rival Heinz" (courtesy of the New York Times) [moved from Italy]

I guess Heinz ketchup just wasn't slow enough.

The New York Times is touting an Italian-made ketchup that it calls "properly sweet". I've yet to see it Italy (but then again, I didn't ask!). However, the Times reassures you that you can buy it at Eataly (and Amazon too if you can't face the crush there).

    I haven't seen it here yet either. But, since Mutti makes what I consider to be the best tomato paste, I wouldn't be surprised that they've turned to ketchup for the American market. In fact, tubes of Muti Concentrato is what I usually bring from Italy to the USA as gifts for people.

      @minchilli,

      Mutti makes my favorite polpa as well as concentrato. However, I will admit I was surprised at first to see the Times feature (someone sent it to me). But then I did think: "Oh...well, sure Mutti would figure that one out."
