Cafe Luna closed, Champaign

I read with sadness about the closure of Cafe Luna. I lived in CU for the better part of 20 years, and remember well Luna at the 4th and Green location, which was some of the best dining around. It seems their decline started around the time I left in 2009. I admit I haven't been there for several years. I wonder what happened? I see online harrumphing about tapas style places, but it seems to me that the point is to order 4-5 things and share. Yes, it can get expensive if you aren't careful. Anyone want to chime in on what they think happened?

I loved Cafe Luna when it was at 4th and Green but every single time I went to the newer location I had atrocious service. I'm pretty easy going if it at all seems like someone is trying so it's rare for me to complain about service. I heard this from many others as well though. It's a shame....

I have to agree. I had some atrocious service and some mediocre food the last several times I went to Luna. I was so excited when they moved to downtown, because I give preference to places I can walk to. But Luna just wasn't Luna after it moved.
