Chianti in April
We are making our first trip to Italy, spending 5 nights in Chianti/Tuscany (Greve). We would appreciate input on our tentative selections and any others you might recommend:
Antica Marcelleria Cecchini (Panzano)
Risotoro di Lamole (Lamole)
Castello Vicchiomaggio Cooking Class (Greve)
Nerbone di Greve
Antica Tratorria La Torre (Castellina)
Ristorante Dorando (San Gimigiano)
Il Vinaio (Panzano)
Solociccia is a great experience and is worth doing.
Ristoro di Lamole is refined cooking, and is good. I prefer the Albergaccio di Castellina for this type of food.
For simple stuff, Il Fondaccio is a nice pizzeria in Castellina that has a great list of Chiantis.
Further South, Malborghetto serves excellent versions of traditional dishes. For your first trip to Italy, I think this is really worth a visit.
Osteria del Castello at Brolio is refined and ambitious but not as good as Lamole or Albergaccio.
Osteria del Vicario (fancy) or il Latini in Certaldo may be better than eating in San Gimignano (I haven't tried Dorando)
