  1. Can't wait! Am hoping AIR runs it as well as Carolina Epicurean did last year. :)

Was very pleased to see Biltmore on there (I like that they are taking an interest). I guess you have to make a rez so they can let you in the gate if you don't have a pass, but that's easy enough.

In re Biltmore Estate restaurants ~ suggest you check with Biltmore (not AIR) to confirm that they will let non-passholders onto the estate for the crawl. Current policy is that restaurants are for guests of the estate and passholders only (seems like there is a definitely loss of potential revenue there...).

Agree with you about Carolina Epicurean running the crawl ~ I've been to most of them in both Asheville and Hendersonville and they're great fun.

Hmm...well I asked somewhere a few weeks ago (on Facebook maybe?) and I believe it was Biltmore that responded?? The question I asked was if non-passholders who were NOT with passholders wanted to go how would that work. And that was the reply - with a rez for those days, anyone could get in for the crawl.

I will double check though and report back.

          Scirocco,
You're right -~it's on FB Asheville Small Plate Crawl. Thanks for the clue. Here's the info ~

Want to experience Bistro or Cedric's at Biltmore Estate during the Asheville Small Plate Crawl presented by AIR? Tickets will not be required for this three day event. Guests should make a reservation through the Biltmore website, Open Table, or by phone. Reservation must be for 5pm or later, for either Bistro or Cedric’s Tavern, and will gain them access to Antler Hill Village only. They do not need to make a reservation for both restaurants.

Yup, that was me (Barrie) asking the question on there! I found it too. LOL But, that was AIR answering. I have a question in to Biltmore to confirm. stay tuned...

I also wonder how the rez system will work. With the crawl, people do not stay long. pretty much in and out within 30 mins if possible (not your typical dinner seating or table stay) so they can move on to the next restaurant. the regular rez system is set up to anticipate a much longer seating.

I am a passholder, so it really doesn't affect me, but I want to go with friends who aren't and they won't all fit into my car! LOL So that's why I'm asking the questions...

            1. re: NANCY

Biltmore confirmed that you do not need to be a passholder to do the crawl on their property, but non-passholders do have to make a rez at one of the participating restaurants (I assume passholders don't have to make a rez). And it has to be after 5, but I think they're only doing dinner anyway.

      2. Nancy, are you the organizer for the new asheville foodies group? I've joined and I hope this is something the group can do. In reply to Scirocco, passholders can bring 1 or 2 guests in after 5pm . I have a pass And would take people in.

Yes, I know passholders can always bring folks in, but I was concerned about my friends who wouldn't fit in my car. LOL

          1. re: cheesepleese

Not me, but I'd love to know more and join the group. Can you share any info?
            Thanks!

            1. re: NANCY

Go to meetup.com,then to asheville and look for Asheville foodies. This group just started last week. Check out the other food groups too. I'm glad this group was started as many of the groups are wine oriented- I do drink- but I'd rather cook with the wine!

              1. re: cheesepleese

Wow...if you can't find a group with common interests at meetup, you just need to stay home! I liked the wine group. Thanks for the link.
