What has happened to chervil?

For the past several weeks my wife and I have looked for some chervil to buy, and we cannot find it. PCC, Ballard Market, Whole Foods, Met Market... Not packaged, not bulk. Can anyone help with this?

  1. I'm surprised that you were ever able to find it at all.

I've NEVER come across Chervil for sale at ANY market - Whole Foods, local farmers markets, anywhere.

The only place I ever find Chervil is in my own garden.

But I can understand why no markets carry it, as it's super fragile - moreso than pretty much any other herb.

    1. Cold weather in Arizona and other normally warm growing regions has been hard on leafy greens and lettuces, so I would not be surprised if tender herbs were affected as well.

      1. I had a similar problem with lovage last year but I also couldn't even find it for sale at a nursery! I had it on potatoes at Willows Inn and the combo was so good I thought I'd die.

Lovage is very easy to grow, & has the added advantage of being a perennial that comes back year after year. Only disadvantage is that it gets HUGE. Like 4'-5' high with a similar spread, so needs a roomy spot in the garden.

        2. Agree with Bacardi 1. Don't recall ever seeing it. Lovage is all over our P-Patch though during the growing season.
