Missed 2012 San Gabriel Valley Chinese Restaurant Opening

Go Go Cafe opened this past summer in Arcadia at 838 S. Baldwin Ave. It has just been profiled in a blog called Discover Los Angeles as one of the best Chinese dumpling restaurants in the Los Angeles area. The reason we probably missed it despite numerous trips up and down Baldwin Ave. is that there is no English language signage indicating the existence of a restaurant at the location. They were closed for cleaning when I went by this morning, so a food report will have to wait.

This has nothing to do with the old Go Go Cafe in San Gabriel does it? Used to be in the plaza with Ranch 99 and the big Sam Woo.

Unlikely to be any connection. The current Go Go Cafe is primarily a dumpling place. I don't think they were even selling dumplings in the SGV when the old Go Go Cafe was in business 20 years ago.

Any list that has Fortune Dumpling as one of the best dumpling places in SGV loses a significant bit of credibility.

Hui Tou Xiang's various dumplings were some of the grossest things I ate last year, but edbm's pieces are always well researched, and pretty. Good enough for Saveur, good enough for us.
