Do different brands of stainless pans stain more easily?

I have some calphalon that is all stained up with burned on oil and my allclad are pretty clean looking. Was I just more of a slob cleaning the calphalon?

  1. I don't think it is actually a staining issues...any 18/10 or 18/8 stainless should be Ok. Guessing it may be that the Calphalon is getting hot spots where oils burn and turn into gook that takes some serious elbow grease to clean.
