An Evening of Molecular Gastronomy - Anyone Going?

Saw this upcoming event on blogto and sounds really interesting but I'm very paranoid about scams/wasting my money anyone ever heard of this person/been to one of his workshops?

Saw it here:

  1. I haven't been to any of his workshops, but John Placko is a talented chef and really knowledgable about MC (I believe he teaches courses in it at Humber College?). I went to the Australia Day dinner last year where he was one of the chefs and his dishes were excellent, including a passionfruit pavlova dessert that I still think about.

    1. I know the organizer and have met John a few times, there is no scam here.

I am not a fan of the company they are using for ticketing as they bill everything in US dollars then you get dinged for exchange by your credit card company, but other than that, they are legit.

i noticed that too. since you know the organizer, any chance of a separate chow sign up that avoids the double exchange and the service charge? :)

      2. Hi everyone. I am the creator of the Death Row Meals events. Thanks for the feedback, if anyone wants to buy a ticket directly through me, just email me at
