Arnuad's or Antoines / Dante's Kitchen or Upperline??
Hello everyone - love reading all of the advice and feedback. I have been scouring this site for the past several weeks for our upcoming visit Jan. 23-30. We visit one to two times a year for the past several years.
Of these questioned choices, which would you choose, why, what would you order and if you have a server rec for Arnaud's, Antoine's and/or Galatoire's. Have found this can really make or break the meal in many instances.
Tentatively, lunch choices look like Acme (traditional first lunch), Cochon, Borgne, Boucherie, Katie's, possibly August.
Dinners - Dante's Kitchen, Dick & Jenny's, Arnaud's, Brigsten's, Mr. John's, Galatoire's.
Will probably move Galatoire's for lunch to free up another dinner spot - Tommy's and Vincent's are favs.
I know there are many other wonderful choices; however, the selections have been made to satisfy DH palate, can be a little picky, with several being repeats of favs. If we are really missing the boat on somewhere, please let me know. We were at Revolution this past summer shortly after their opening - while it was good, we weren't blown away even though we wanted to be. Food was good, not great and service was odd - don't know any other way to describe it. We could be convinced to try again if you think it is worth a valuable meal slot.
As a side note: we love the dining traditions of this great food city and cheerfully honor the requested dress of each establishment (can't tell you how honored we were on our last trip when our server at August and another place I cannot remember assumed we were locals). As a business owner, I understand the financial side but am deeply saddened to see that so many do not give the same respect, not for a lack of means, but just because they are able to get away with it.
