Special Occasion, Vegetarian, and Cocktails

scarmoza Jan 9, 2013 07:20 PM

Hi Chowhounds! I'm rackin' my brain trying to help out a friend with some ideas for a special occasion dinner in San Francisco (proper). He is hoping to find somewhere that has a nice cocktail menu and caters to both vegetarians and omnivores. I'm guessing his budget to be around $100 each, not including drinks.

Thanks for any suggestions you might have!

Quince. I've only had cocktails at the bar & they were fantastic. Best drinks of 2012. Since I love Cotogna's pastas, I assume the veg. dishes here will be quite good too.

I love Kokkari but I don't think they have a cocktail list & it can be pretty loud.

    Jardiniere may be?

Last summer a friend had a vegan tasting menu there that she described as the best meal of her life, IIRC. And she's no pushover. The five course menu would meet that budget. Here's the link:

ETA: Oops - the restaurant is Atelier Crenn which you'd figure out anyway from the link.

Just as I was opening this, I had that realization. Thanks for clarifying.
