Tips for getting black crud off my calphalon grill pan

I grilled chicken that had a sugary marinade on my grill pan. Now it's covered in black crud that I can't get off. I've soaked it over night, scrubbed it with a brillo pad and even used goo-gone that is formulated for your grill. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Try Easy-Off Fume Free oven cleaner. I use it to get the sticky grease off my deep fryer insert and it works very well.
