Food Exchange

My food group is doing a food exchange. I have been paired with a person in Maine. We have around a $20 limit. It can go a bit higher. My question to the truly local Philadelphians; What Philadelphia food items would you send?

+ 1 for Jon and Kira. We have had a number of their boxed items including the Figs and found them to be excellent chocolates with some very interesting flavors/fillings clearly identified on each box to enable naming the taste.

Where abouts in Glenside?? I love John and Kira's stuff, and never have the time to stop by the Terminal (and always forget I can order online). I live right in Glenside, so this would be perfect!

The Weaver's Way coops usually have John and Kira's products -- Mt. Airy or Chestnut Hill.

I just called them. They only have couple of the chocolate bars. I need to get my hands on the figs! They will have more figs the first Friday in February.

The first things that come to mind would require overnight shipping - scrapple and soft pretzels (soft pretzels outside of this area tend to have sugar and more butter). The other item that comes to mind is pepper hash.

I like the idea of the chocolates, scrapple & pepper hash! I would be a bit concerned about the pretzels getting hard.

My pick would be a box of Eclat chocolates, though they're not exactly local to Philadelphia, Eclat being in West Chester. You can buy them at Fork Etc. though, or buy online and they'll ship them for you. I'm assuming the $20 doesn't include shipping.

Are you limited to one item or are you going to put together a care package? Are you looking for something unique to philadelphia, or just well done here?

I would like to put together a few items and am hoping for items unique to the area and not readily available outside the area.
