Oklahoma Joe's french fries ... are there better fries in/around Kansas City?

Wasn't able to make it to Oklahoma Joe's for their burnt ends, but did have a pretty good Smokie Joe sandwich.

But what I *really* want to talk about is those damn french fries. Are they fried in crack? I think these might be some of the best fries I've ever had.

Does anyone know how they are made? And are there better iterations of french fries in/around KC (either in KS or MO)?

I think people's opinions about what makes a good french fry vary too much to agree on who makes the best in town.

That said, I LOVE the fries at The Foundry in Westport.

driftwood bbq truck fries may rival OK Joes.

While the barbecue is much better at Okie Joe's, I like the fries at Gates better. They're steak fries cooked extra well done. They aren't quite a salty as Okie Joe's either.

I have not had Oklahoma Joe's french fries so I cannot help you there. I had excellent fries at Aixois on one visit - another visit not so much but man, those fries the first time....
