dinner before Pink
Hi all
Having a birthday outing with some girlfriends to see Pink and looking for dinner suggestions. We will have transportation but would like to be nearby the verizon center. We are looking for fun atmosphere and drinks along with middle of the road cusine- no Asian or sushi probably American/Italian/Tapas heavy apps would be best. Its an occasion so we can be flexible with the price point.
TIA
Adi

I'm not the OP, but my girlfriends & I also went to the Pink show & took the advice to go to Zaytinya.
It was fantastic!! and we were raving the entire meal! After starting with the hot & fresh pitas, with the delish olive oil, we enjoyed the hommus, htipiti, baba ghannouge, brussel sprouts, crispy potatoes (they were french fries), spanakopita, kotopoulo youvetsi (chicken orzo dish), beef & lamb meatballs, & the lamb special that was wrapped in phyllo dough. Each dish was outstanding, and there wasn't anything that we wouldn't order again, but the true standouts were the brussel sprouts & the lamb special - both of which we ordered a second dish of, and I am still dreaming about today.
For dessert - we shared the Turkish Chocolate Cake and the Turkish Delight...the Turkish Delight, with the walnut ice cream....perfection!!!
Great cozy upscale atmosphere w/o being pretentious. The bench seat that we were sat in was uber comfy & the fireplace warmed us up! Service was very good, even though he was weeded. Dishes came out with lightning speed, and the table was cleared in a timely manner. We never felt rushed, even though there was an obvious wait for tables. Including about 3 cocktails each, the bill was $242. I can't wait to return!

We had tapas and sangria at La Tasca right across from the VC one time before an Eagles concert...was decent, nothing that would cause a Chowhound post but decent and certainly convenient...not too expensive either...
